Set A-1

This camel cart was outside a hotel in Jaipur.  They offered drives to tourists, but in the hour or 2 I was there I did not see them have any passangers.   People do a lot of waiting, and just seem to be used to it.

This is a young girl on her way to school in Agra.

The men in Rajastan keep their moustaches long and they frequently play (twirl) the ends.  Each locale has its own tradition of playing with and twisting it.  I came across 2 cases of compulsive twisting.  There are very good opportunities for psychiatrists who are willing to use Prozac for this condition.  Managed care pays 2 Rupees for each successful course of treatment.

This was the Nanny of a shopkeeper.  She was looking down at me from the second story window.  I have another photo of her and the children she cares for.  My fantasy was to be a kid and have her as my Nanny.  Since Hinduism believes in recarnation, this fantasy is possible in my next life.

Young girls (and others) carry these clay pots on their head.  The pots are often filled with dung which they pick up from the streets.  They then dry the dung and use it for fuel..  The girl on the right smiled when she saw the camera.  They did not seem to enjoy what they were doing.

Each and every face I saw had so much character.
